Peter,

I don't know if you remember the original problem and your reply (included below) and my intention is not to bug you about this, but I've finally had time to again turn my attention to openscap here where I work.

I believe I was running openscap-0.8.4 at the time, and within a month or so the 0.8.5 update arrived in the fedora 17 repository.

I was hoping this was the fix, but apparently not as the same problem still occurs. The workbench does start, but it does not seem to do anything.

Hi John,

I'm sorry for this problem. It's fixed by these commits:
2887676bfc55af25ac6a3ef37b65d0b3a4cbe6ab,
e0eb05c585491ac26201943525b618a927b1f46d

New openscap release with the fix included will be available next week.

Regards,
Peter.

Hello All,

I just upgraded my Fedora system from 16 to 17 with no problems and
everything works as expected except the scap-workbench and scap-workbench-editor
tools. It would appear that I may be missing a required module that was
not picked up during the upgrade, but that's only a guess on my part since
I'm no python expert by any stretch of the imagination.

Here is the output when running either the workbench or workbench editor:

# scap-workbench
Traceback (most recent call last):
   File "/bin/scap-workbench", line 47, in <module>
     main()

_mod = imp.load_module('_openscap_py', fp, pathname, description)
ImportError: /usr/lib/python2.7/site-packages/_openscap_py.so: undefined symbol: __oscap_reallocf_dbg

The system has Python 2.7.3 installed, python-2.7.3-6.fc17.i686

Any help regarding this is greatly appreciated.

Regards,

John C.
