[Open-scap] xpath in tests ?

I am writing a test querying over a few xml files. Should I use grep or
xpath? I believe that maintaining xpath expressions carries much less
burden then grep commands.


Does anybody has an objection against making our

    make check

dependent on

    /usr/bin/xpath (from perl-XML-XPath)

? If there is an objections than what is the preferred way for
assertions like:

    //rule-result[@idref="def-20120006"]/result[text()="fail"]
