Hello Renaud,

actually, in the latest RHEL 7.9.10 the CIS profile was updated
to be aligned with benchmark version 3.1.1.

https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1953787

Among other things, the CIS profile got split into 4 profiles
which align to levels defined by CIS.

I hope it helps,

Vojta

I know RHEL7 is not aligned to 3.1.1 benchmark but to 2.2.0 and I
heard that it will never be aligned due to changes that would
break backward compatibility between RHEL7 sub-releases.

I have a customer that needs a statement that RHEL7 will never
align to 3.1.1 benchmark. Do we have such official announcement
somewhere and if not who could deliver such statement?

As a cherry on the cake, do we have a list of what prevents us
from aligning to 3.1.1 without breaking things?

Thanks,

Renaud.
