It didn't make significant different with -9 

 - p7zip -9:  601M
 - rzip -9:   580M
 - lzma -9:   611M


rzip is potentially worth using, saving 100 MBs download over the compressed
qcow2. But if we slim down the master image itself that saving will be less
sigificant.
