Yep.  Going to cleanup the bash script based on pmyers and jim's feedback, then
commit.  There may be a case for doing the "awaken" and "send info" in a C
program, but I'd prefer to make that part of Darryl's restructuring; at the
moment we just need a replacement for the python version.
