Hesiod is intended to be like NIS, that is, a replacement for passwd and group
files, but:
a) uses DNS as a "transport" if you will
b) shouldn't be used unless you do actual passwords out of band (like with
Kerberos) since the DNS foo isn't encrypted on the wire.
