pam_nologin

Pam-0.56 : if I do "echo 'go away' >/etc/nologin" , and then
try to login, pam displays the contents of /etc/nologin first,
and then asks for a password.
It continues with:
Login incorrect

Please enter username:

regardless of what I type in as password.

/etc/pam.conf is as distributed.

Is there no way pam_nologin could indicate that further authentication
is useless ?

Han
