what is the file /etc/pam_smb.conf means?

in my linux system,there is a directory pam.d and a file  /etc/pam_smb.conf.

 

#cat /etc/pam_smb.conf:

MYGROUP

 I want to know what is the file /etc/pam_smb.conf means,is it necessary?
