Hello PatternFly community,

Exciting news: PatternFly now has a Medium publication
<https://medium.com/patternfly>!

This is an online space for PatternFly content, as well as open source
design and UX articles. Articles written by a variety of folks can now all
be housed under a single publication. In other words, it’s PatternFly’s
blog (and it will be replacing the existing blog on the PatternFly site).

Articles on the Medium publication will cover the following topics:
*- PatternFly*: Thoughts, ideas, research, tips, etc. about PatternFly.
These articles should tell a story vs. share quick product updates.
*- Open source*: Thoughts, ideas, research, tips, etc. about the world of
open source.
*- UX thought leadership*: Thoughts, ideas, research, tips, etc. about the
world of UX (design, research, dev, writing, etc.).

The best part? Community members can contribute articles—we want to hear
from you!

If you’re interested in contributing, here's the general submission info:

1. Submit a topic to Abi Donahue via this form
<https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSenoFuNp_GoW9gDxA5s8uklvZuGcYRMpwTfiTc0nXaG3Z3tEQ/viewform?usp=sf_link>.
Abi will either approve or disapprove your topic. If your topic is
disapproved, you’ll get feedback/ideas on how to make it more applicable to
the publication.
2. Abi adds you as a “Writer” to the Medium publication (after your topic
is approved).
3. Write your draft in a Google Doc. Share your Google Doc with Abi (
adonahue at redhat.com) when you’re ready.
4. Abi leaves edits/feedback in your Google Doc.
5. You apply all edits/feedback.
6. Abi assigns you a slot in the editorial calendar. You receive a due date
and a publication date.
    - Due date: The date your article needs to be written in Medium and
added as a draft to the PatternFly Medium publication
    - Publication date: The date your article goes live on the Medium
publication
7. Log in to your Medium account and draft your article. Add it to the
PatternFly publication as a draft by EOD on your due date. Let Abi know.
8. Abi gives it a final read-through and schedules it for publication on
your publication date.

I hope you all enjoy the Medium publication as it grows, and I look forward
to hearing from you.

Thanks!
