Thanks for being a guinypig :)
Did you run "make install" after this?
On an rh8 system i got errors in the install process, and then
everything goes haywire.
After the install have gotten something like "cannot find __libc_end
symbol" or allmost all the executables (dynamic ones ofcourse) get the
error msg "Cannot setup thread-local storage".
