Benchmark clarification

Since I've heard some questioning of the benchmark some more information:

I ran the tests on my test system which is a 2xPII Xeon @450MHz.  Not
the latest model but certainly in the server class.  I don't have a
bigger ia32 system which I can misuse handy.

Once I've ported the code to ia64 I'll test on a quad ITP2.

And we'll have more benchmarks as soon as we have some code that
produces reliable results.  My attempts so far have issues with the
scheduler on SMP systems.  It's not so easy to write thread benchmarks.
 If somebody has some code I'm happy to run it.
