Re: cdrecord blues

Anyone else seeing problems trying to burn CDs?

Every time I try to burn from an .ISO file on my all-Rawhide system, I
get an error like this, about 420 MB into the burn:

As I said, I've got an all-rawhide system, so I have all the latest
everything - kernel, cdrecord, etc. The hardware involved is an Adaptec
2930U card and a Yamaha CRW-F1S drive.

This basically breaks my burner for me completely, so it's really
frustrating. Anyone have any ideas?

... sounds like defective recording media to me. I'd suggest using
a CDRW disk, that way, you can always *erase* the disk and start over.
Also, once the beta goes GA, you can erase the same disk and reuse it
for burning the release code... no more "coasters".

Last but equally important, I take it that you *have* verified the
md5sums of the iso?

cheers & HTH,

Elton ;-)
