vsftpd problem

The ftp server on phoebe is vsftpd 1.1.3, and it's seperated from xinetd. We know that xinetd combined with tcp wrapper and vsftp also have the same functionality, but it need to be built. Here gives the docs from vsftp:

To use per-IP configuration, you need vsftpd built with tcp_wrappers! This is accomplished
by editing "builddefs.h" and changing

#undef VSF_BUILD_TCPWRAPPERS
to
#define VSF_BUILD_TCPWRAPPERS

And then rebuild.

I thought redhat 9 should add this functionality since it's convinient for us to restrict specific IP address's connection with the following in /etc/hosts.allow :

vsftpd: <IP address>: DENY
