Dear PKI Users and Devels,

Based on recent feedback from the PKI developer community, we have decided
that it’s time to update our documents to formalize a set of well practiced
contributing procedures, and to provide some general guidelines.

The first document is geared to clarify the rules of engagement when it
comes to CONTRIBUTING
<https://github.com/dogtagpki/pki/blob/master/CONTRIBUTING.md> to our
project. The information also provides tips and best practices when it
comes to the actual development process, with emphasis on how to propose
changes to the PKI source code.

Additionally, we have provided an update to our development related README
<https://github.com/dogtagpki/pki/blob/master/README.md> document. This
document provides a quick and simple way for a developer to become
acclimated to the PKI project itself and how to get started in the
development process. Some of the major topics covered include installing
the product, deploying the various PKI subsystems on a local host, and
building and submitting for review actual updates to the PKI code base.

Please feel free to contribute to code or documentation or file any bugs
that you may find within the project. Always feel free to reach out to us,
if you have any questions, comments or concerns.
