I'll chase these up next week to see what is going on. Work on version 0.34 so far: - Fix PO file name missing from translation status report - Modify xmlClean to output dummy content for empty files - Default SHOW_UNKNOWN tags off (shuts up build for non-redhat users) - Make unset entity warnings more obvious - Make publican desktop docs use DESKTOP style - Fix missing list image in html-single articles - Commented out debug output in chunking xsl - QANDA set html and css fix BZ #442674 - Fix kde requires. BZ #443024 - Add default FOP xconf file. - Added help_internals target, to explain some internal variables. - Added check for banned tags, disabled atm. - Added --lang to create_book BZ #444851 - Added package tag BZ #444908 - Cleaned up help texts I spent some time migrating some external docs for a presentation Andy is giving about publican next week; hopefully he will let us know how it all went :) I setup my fedora people page, it's pretty empty but I did use publican to do it so it looks better than most fedora people pages ;) Next week I will be spending time getting FOP working on RHEL 5. So next Friday I'll have that working or will have invented a new Darwin award application strategy. Summary: Required font metric files are for sazanami, not kochi https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=442992 ------- Additional Comments From ssato at redhat.com 2008-05-08 05:18 EST ------- I maybe understand the reason for current fop configuration. RHEL5 have a package named fonts-japanese _looks_ having "kochi-subst*.ttf". But, you can see these are symlinks to sazanami-*.ttf actually just by looking at its RPM SPEC. (The snippet below is from fonts-japanese.spec in fonts-japanese-0.20061016-4.el5.src.rpm) -----------------------------------:X----------------------------------- %post { ... # make symlinks for java referring to old path and fonts ln -sf ../../japanese/TrueType/sazanami-gothic.ttf %{_datadir}/fonts/ja/TrueType/kochi-gothic-subst.ttf || : ln -sf ../../japanese/TrueType/sazanami-mincho.ttf %{_datadir}/fonts/ja/TrueType/kochi-mincho-subst.ttf || : ... } -----------------------------------:X----------------------------------- It looks just a quick hack to keep backward compatibility as a temporal solution. Add to this, current JDK (OpenJDK-1.6.0) is correctly configured to refer to sazanami fonts instead of kochi-subst fonts. So symlinks are not needed any more. It's summarized as follows. - rhel5 needs configuration for sazanami fonts even if there are symlinks. - fedora needs configuration for sazanami; symlinks to kochi-subst are gone. P.S. Unfortunately the paths for these fonts are different between rhel5 and fedora. So the fop configuration file might needed to be generated in accordance with target during build process. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.redhat.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug, or are watching someone who is.
