[publican-list] Using internal links in pdf file in Publican

Hi everyone,

Is there a way to use internal links in pdf and html (multiple pages) without <link> tag in Publican?

I see that I can use <xref> but it imposes the restrictions on a text of the link. It always looks like, for example, "Chapter 3, Chapter about Question X". And how can I use something like <a href="section_id">some text here</a> in html? 

It seems that <link> tag provides this functionality but it is disallowed in Publican. So can I get the same result without it?

Sorry, if it is a stupid question. But I couldn't find the answer anywhere.
