Mark,

Could you attach /tmp/en-US/xml/Book_Info.xml so that I can get a look at it?

I strongly suspect that you need to include an abstract, but I'd like to get a look at the file itself before I commit myself to that diagnosis.

I switched over to using wkhtmltopdf by installing it. 

Now I get this error: 

Beginning work on en-US 
DTD Validation OK 
Starting pdf 
Using XML::LibXSLT on /usr/share/publican/xsl/html-pdf.xsl 
Can not locate 'abstract' tag in file 'tmp/en-US/xml/Book_Info.xml' at /usr/bin/publican line 1033. 
make: *** [pdf] Error 255 

I'm using: 

[miesfeld at localhost oodialog]$ publican -v 
version=v4.0.0 


Does anyone know how to fix that?
