Thread jacking a bit, sorry. Here is was my take from the plugin writers
workship.

I assumed that when defining uniquenes I would need to do a unit and
version (or, in this case a path and name). In my assumption, uniquess
was constrained within the given repo.

Now, if pulp wants to be smart and de-dupe when storing the artifact,
then it makes sense to use a signature hash to do that. However, this is
different than uniqueness.

So, it still seems wrong that the api is requireing the plugin writer to
deal with defining how to determine if a unit is the same across repos
since this is only needed for an internal storage optimization.
