Pulp 2:
-
Dep solving
-
Automatically copy modulemd-defaults PR is ready to go:
https://github.com/pulp/pulp_rpm/pull/1400
- *AI:* ttereshc to review
-
all of the original documented recursive-conservative bugs are now
seemingly fixed
-
E.g. copying nodejs version 10 doesn’t accidentally copy v12,
and copying mariadb or openmpi doesn’t copy perl anymore
(that’s what the
other PR was supposed to fix!)
-
“Recursive (not conservative) mode” is not working fully; its
usage is unknown and likely low
-
*AI*: dalley to double check with Katello if non-conservative
mode is used by them
-
Issue https://pulp.plan.io/issues/4693 is deprioritized
<https://pulp.plan.io/issues/4693>
-
It is still reproducible but there are no longer any in-the-wild
examples of this happening
-
It's questionable if the test case is actually valid, taking that
into consideration as well the fact that the reporter used a
weird random
fake-RPM-generation tool from github. Additionally, the only truly
worrying behavior documented there is no longer occurring.
- +1 to deprioritize (if Katello agrees)
-
Next priority
-
*AI*: dalley to work on the dep solving feature to support
multiple target/source repo in copy API and use recently merged
multi-resource locking.

https://pulp.plan.io/issues/5207 +1

Thinking of naming content unit “DistributionTree” as “Distribution”
is already something else in Pulp 3
-

-
