         Resync-with-no-updates is the slow thing? -yes
         - fabricio will add a resync test

         Is first-time sync faster in empty db than ‘full’ db?
         -

         Is batchsize in stages api affecting us?
         -

         Look at sql-explain-plans for possibly missing useful indices
         - we need to find someone to work on it soon
