[Pulp-list] Should the python plugin update package metadata after download?

The way that metadata is stored on PyPI is structured differently than
how we store data in Pulp, so we are considering whether it is
acceptable to use the API metadata alone to create units or whether we
should also inspect the packages themselves also. If you are interested,
