[Rdo-list] Ceilometer DB?

According to http://docs.openstack.org/developer/ceilometer/install/dbreco.html, there are many database backend choices, mysql included.

There is much discussion on the lists for the ceilometer schema. The MySQL implementation is tested in the gate but shows some performance issues there even at small scale.

At CERN, we run with MongoDB (and have some scalability issues even then which are being worked on with the community)

I believe Eoghan may have some light to shed on this.  I know he's told me in the past why the above is the case, I just can't recall from past conversations :)
