The Xorg x-windows used in FC2 will read both xorg.conf and XF86Config
(if present).  I think it tries the XF86Config first, for legacy
compatibility.  Best bet: If you're running Xorg, at least rename any
XF86Config files you may have lying about to something such as
"old-XF86Config".

Did we get your machine to behave finally?  Are you getting the right
resolution?
