Getting Java Plugins to Run with Mozilla in RH 9

What if the above trick doesn't do the job .
Well i have installed a second version of mozilla under /user/local/mozilla

( Mozilla v. 1.6 , the very same i am using right now,from mozilla.org )
Then i went to /usr/local/mozilla/plugins and placed the above link , 
with a small variation . Since i don't have the ns610-gcc32 directory i 
gave the ns610 . I don't have gcc v. 3.2 at all ( am using Redhat 7.3 )
By the way the version of java is 1.4.1_03  .
Where do i look for errors .
