Both these give the IP address that was assigned to this machine, but do
not reveal the DNS info the DHCP server told it.

I'm not sure what winipcfg does but (as root) give "ifconfig" a try.
"man ifconfig" for more information.  For network routing information,
try "netstat -rn".
