a music player for linux system

Hi guys;

I'm looking forward to enjoy charming music when working on my RH plate 
forme..I don't know if there is a powerfull music player for the linux system 
which is FREE for download and capable of reading most possible audio file 
formats...we all know about REALPLAYER which i'm using on my windows box; but 
i didn't check if there is a version for linux system...
any ideas? links ?
