First off, ncftpput moves files FROM your local machine TO a remote
machine.

Second, it appears the account you have on the remote machine has a bad
home directory. It appears that the account has a home directory of
"From Macmillan" (goddam Microsoft permitting embedded spaces in
filenames!) You must check the remote account and see if the home
directory for your login actually exists.
