Uh the driver you're trying to install is older than the one that RHEL4
installed and it's not compatible with a 2.6 kernel. Is there a reason
you want the older driver?

Yes, because you're trying to install an older driver. Remember that
Red Hat 9 used a 2.4 kernel and XFree86 for X-Windows. RHEL4 uses a 2.6
kernel and Xorg's X-Windows. They are totally different animals.
