If the BIOS sees the drive, the OS will. If you don't see it with df, then
you have to verify that /dev/sd[a..z]1 is there. SATA drives are shown as
SCSI disks and the default is to assign them as /dev/sda1 /dev/sdb1, etc.

I use SATA at home and work, mirrored, and whenever there's a problem,
it's been in the BIOS.
