Use the "desktop switching tool" in the menu.

Gnome can be identified by the menu bar having either a Red Hat logo
on the main menu or something that looks like a stylized "G" morphed
into a weird footprint. KDE will have the vast majority of its tools
start with a "k" ("kcalc", "kmail", "konqueror", etc.). The default
desktop for Red Hat is Gnome.
