Installation issues on redhat linux

Do you mind if i ask how did you installed those packages ???


There are two ways that you can install a package .

The first one is through the use of the source code . Which means that
you download the source coded , compile it and then install the programm .
This method has a small "problem" , it doesn't inform the RPM Database .
So unless you do some extra stuff ( I don't know exactly what ) the system
will be unaware of what you did .
  The second way is to install it through the use of the rpm command
( that's what pkg-config is actually doing ). If you use this method , 
things
are more simple .
