ksh : bad interpreter on fedora

/bin/ksh exists of my fedora machine, but when I run scripts with

#!/bin/ksh at the top

I get the message "bad interpreter : no such file or directory"

Why is this?

running /bin/ksh from the command line works fine

bash is the default shell for the user I am running under.
