moving dir /var from one drive to another

I've had to do this recently on an RH9 box.

Install the new drive. Boot into rescue mode from the install CD and
mount as per instructed. Format the new drive as however you desire.
Mount the new drive somewhere - probably under /mnt temporarily. Copy
all the data in /var to the new drive. Remove the old drive and once
again reboot in rescue mode as before. Edit the /etc/fstab to reflect
the new mount as /var.
