linux router gw

Hi all,

I have set up linux gateway and is working fine.It has 2 NIC
and eth0 is given public Ip and eth1 given private Ip.

eth0 gw is again a public IP
eth1 gw is a private Ip

But from that system I am unable to telnet to local LAN.It is saying connection 
time out. 

please help me to solve this problem.
