get ssh to connect with out password

The problem has been found.  The instructions were correct.  One thing I
didn't know was the permsions of the .ssh directory.  Somewhere a long the
way when I made the .ssh directory on the target computer (one I was
trying to remotely connect too) write was allowed for the group!  Once the
write persion was taken off the directory everything work as expected.
