Yes_ you're right. But definitly_ at least I do know .-)
/dev/md0 on /home type ext3 (rw,nosuid,nodev,grpquota,usrquota)

I'd use tar for this_ but I didn't want to confuse the op_ because it
seems_ he's quite a beginner. I just wanted to avoid the mistake of
copying without preserving any permissions because in the case of /var
this can be very heavy stuff to rebuild...
(and /home may not be funny, too...)
