sending email in command line

Hi
I have a newly installed RH9 and connect it to our local network with an email server, when I tried to test my RH9 to send email in command line (ls | mail -s asdf egamez at bonheur.com.ph) I did not received any mail. I checked the RH9 log, maillogsays stat=queued but when I type mailq there no mail in the queue. Do I have to setup something in my RH9 to send mail?
