RPM woes on RH8

I have a pristine RH8 system that I am trying to get up and running
as a test server. Up2date runs great until it gets to the PAM's. It
complains:
Error Message:
    Invalid RPM package pam-0.75-46.8.0.src.rpm requested
Error Class Code: 17
Error Class Info: File not found.
I log onto RHN and find this IS the case.

I try DL the RPM manually and installing it manually and get:
[root at server up2date]# rpm -qa |grep pam
pam-0.75-40
pam-devel-0.75-40
[root at server up2date]# rpm -Fvh pam-0.75-46.8.0.i386.rpm
error: Failed dependencies:
pam = 0.75-40 is needed by (installed) pam-devel-0.75-40

I don't kno enough to dig into the RPM itself and modify. Would
appreciate and suggestions or workaround's.
