k3b writing speed

Hi,

I've just installed k3b on a Red Hat 9 machine.  I tried to burn a data DVD.  In the k3b status window, after "starting writing...", I get three error lines:

1. :-( falling down to set cd speed
2. opc failed. please try writing speed 1x.
3. fatal error at startup. operation not supported


How do I set the writing speed in k3b?  Thanks,
