vsftp configuration: directory umask?

I've got an FTP server running vsftpd. I allow my local users putting
things in the "pub" directory to create directories, and they can also
create directories in "incoming" for "anonymous" users to upload to.

The umasks for individual files are working fine, but the masks for
those directories are inevitably skewed. I am forever logging in to a
shell to change a directory from drwxr-Sr-- (sorry, I don't know how to
represent the "S" in the numeric mode) to drwxr-sr-x. Is there a way in
vsftpd to configure a umask so that new directories get that mode on
creation? I've combed the documentation and didn't find anything
suggesting it.

Thanks,

pjm
