NIS User account

Do(es) the machine(s) ask you to logon? Can all the machines on the network
ping each other? Have you enabled telnet and ssh xinetd services?

Have you run authconfig and enabled yp/NIS authentication? The Use NIS tab
should be ticked and Domain and server information should be filled out.
