By default, the Vim syntax highlighting is turned off (except in Red 
Hat???). To enable the syntax highlighting, you can use one of the 
following commands:

     :syntax enable

     or

     :syntax on

To disable the syntax highlighting, you can use the following command:

     :syntax off
