File transfers between linux and windows?

Thanks very much for your clarification, Jason.  Being a newcomer to linux, 
I had been confused as to how you could refer in the linux side to a 
partition that was created in Windows, like how do you know what to call 
it?  It didn't occur to me to find out by running fdisk.  But everything is 
working fine now.
