Help, cant see RH server behind hardware VPN router

What do you mean by invisible? ping works?
Does ssh server accept connections from your ip range as well?
Open telnet server on remote XP host (for a little while...) and try to 
console-ssh from there. After that you should be able to modify configs 
on linux server.
You should also check out iptables if they allow connections from your 
ip range.
