hi...

getting bold... thought i'd configure a basic nfs test... i have a rh8.0
with gnome. running gnome, i selected the nfs service, and walked through
the process. i created a dir to use as the nfs dir, and i selected a machine
on my network as the host.

i then attempted to start the service.. and it never came back.... the "NFS
SErver Configuration" dialog/app is grey...

i did a "ps -ef" and got...

root 14424 14198 0 14:25 ? 00:00:00 sh -c { /sbin/service nfs
start
root 14425 14424 0 14:25 ? 00:00:00 /bin/sh /sbin/service nfs
start
root 14428 14425 0 14:25 ? 00:00:00 /bin/sh /etc/init.d/nfs
start
root 14438 14428 0 14:25 ? 00:00:00 initlog -q -c rpc.nfsd 8
root 14439 14438 0 14:25 ? 00:00:00 rpc.nfsd 8

i tried to start the NFS Service from the "Services Menu" as well...with no
luck...

so.. any ideas as to what's going on, and why things are hanging....

thanks for any assistance/pointers/comments...

-bruce
