linux not showing password login

Thanks Patrick,

 I had a look from /

find . -name "*.conf" -exec grep TimedLoginEnable {} \; -print

and it showed :

TimedLogin= false

for

/etc/opt/gnome/gdm/gdm.conf

/etc/opt/gnome/gdm/factory-gdm.conf

strange, very strange... could not find anything on the path suggested.
and TimedLogin seemed to be already false everywhere...
