If I use a Mandrake or SuSE RPM on RH9- What happens? gp-RELOADED

Seems the hard reboot corrupted a file...
reinstalled using -U and all works fine ... in root.

Cannot not get it to work in my home directory...
load gtkam and
when trying to "Add Camera"
I am told "can not claim USB device"

I would guess it is because I do not have permission
from root to use the supporting programs (libgphoto2
and/or gphoto2).

Cannot figure out how to find the appropriate programs
to give myself (as home user) the permissions.

At least I can go in as root, download the pictures
and save to my own directories and work with them from
there... but it means logging off and on...
