Linux and 2 processor Server

I don't know why you should have problem with java. In fact, IIRC, there was 
(is ?) an un-supported java with the RHEL distro. 
In anycase, if you're going to use the commercial RHEL ES, you'll have support 
and you can ask them your questions before you buy it.
