That means that you're not subscribed to the extras channel.  I don't
know if you can do this from the command line, but if you go the web
pages for RHN, you should be able to subscribe yourself there.  I've got
rhel-i386-es-3-extras and I would expect/hope that there's a
rhel-i386-as-3-extras channel out there.

That's because you're not subscribed to the extras channel yet.

The root cause of this problem is that Red Hat took out mysql-server
from the base offering since they were not prepared to support it at the
current price points.  By moving it to an extras channel, they make it
clearer that the packages there are not supported, but available if you
want to use them.
