Help with squirellmail on RH 9

HI.
I'm trying to get Squirrelmail working but am a little confused.
I have searched a bit and found the web site but that did not help.
I have a normal RH9 install which is fully patched.
I have found the config and set domain name etc.
Does Squirrelmail need to be started like apache for example.
I will keep looking but if someone could walk me through what is needed
I would be gratefully .
